Using the Sony Mavica Camera
Students should have a blank floppy disk available to store the pictures on.
Power up the camera using the power switch located on the rear of the camera.
Insert the floppy disk into the floppy drive that is located on the side of the camera.
Use the zoom feature to bring your object of interest into focus.
Push and hold the "shutter" button on the front of the camera to take the picture.
Repeat steps 4-5 until you have taken photos of everything that you want or until you have run out of disk space.
Scanning Photos and Pictures using Adobe PhotoDeluxe.
Start PhotoDeluxe
Click on the "Get Photo" button.
Click on the "Method" tab.
Choose the "Custom" tab.
Click on the "Preview" tab to make a preliminary scan of the photo or picture.
Crop the size to decrease the amount of unnecessary information to scan. To accomplish this use your mouse and left button to move the red lines in until the only select the area that you want.
Click on the "Final" scan.
After you are back in PhotoDeluxe, go to the "File" menu.
Choose the "Export" item followed by the "File Format" option.
You will then need to use the "Up one level" button (folder with an up arrow) to get on to the Desktop. From there you can double-click on the My Computer and then double-click on the 3 1/2" Drive. Choose the JPEG format under the "Save as" drop down box.
Name the file something that you can remember.
Repeat steps 4-11 until you have scanned all of the items that you want.
