Adding Links to Other Pages
You may want to add a few links on your web page to point people to places that might interest you. In order to accomplish this you need to add the following line to your HTML code. This will cause the link to be created.
Example:
Click here to go to Yahoo.
You would type
Click <a href="http://www.yahoo.com"> here </A> to go to Yahoo.
Uploading the Pages and Graphics to the Webserver
The easiest way to load the pages and graphics on to the Lewis County C-1 Web server is to use either Netscape Communicator or Internet Explorer. The following steps will explain the process.
Start Internet Explorer 5.0
Type in the following line into the address line. ftp://username@lewis.k12.mo.us/www/
It will ask for your password, so simply type in your password which in this case is your first name.
The program will log you in and you should see a blank window.
Next you will need to copy the files from your disk.
Go to the Start Menu and Click Run
Type a: and hit enter.
The contents of your disk should show up now. Take your mouse and highlight all of the files that you want to transfer. Then right-click and choose copy.
Go back to your Internet Explorer Window and right click on a blank spot within the window.
Choose Paste. The files will now be uploaded to the server.
You can go to the page by typing in the following address: http://lewis.k12.mo.us/~username/page1.html
where username is your user name such as jcarper, blillard, etc...
