Halloween  2009  Bash

This year we are doing things a bit differently than in the past.  We are hosting a Month Long event that matches the Greatest Heroes in the history of Warhammer against each other.  Each army must be led by a Special Character, named Character, that is found in its current army book.

We have had quite a bit of interest this year, and we have rounded out the field to the final 10 players.  Preliminary rounds will be held all during October, and on the 31st, Halloween, the championship game will take place.

This is a single elimination tournament, which means that if you lose a single game, you are eliminated from the tournament.

There is also the stipulation that all the Generals must be fully painted.   Each army must have a named character as its general!

The Aftermath

After a month of serious gaming, and some not so serious gaming, the event finally reached its climax on Halloween!  Building to that was most of the fun

In the preliminary round, Brian B faced Nate, and the Skaven with Thanquol put an end to the Venerable Lord Kroak.  Then Gentry faced Dennis, and Azhag had no chance against the Honorable King Louie, and the Brets scored a smashing win to gain entry into the round of 8.

In round 1 of elimination, Brian and the Vampires led by Manfred faced Coy and the Warriors of Chaos led by Vilitch the Curseling.  Manfred cursed the cursling and the Vampires advanced.  Dennis faced Brian B, and Leo destroyed a totally frenzied Skaven army.  Rick and Teclis faced Ron and Orion, with Teclis getting the better of the Woodies.  Justin and Kholek Suneater faced Dan and Grimgore of the Black Orcs, with the Warriors of Chaos advancing.

In the round of the Final 4, Justin faced Dennis and trounced him into submission, while Brian destroyed the High Elves with the Vampires.  This set up the final game on Halloween between Justin and Brian.

Justin came in only minutes before the game, set up his army, and glared at Brian across the table.  Brian smiled, and proceeded to destroy the Warriors of Chaos with Zombie after Zombie regiment. 

Brian and Manfred were 2009 Halloween Champions!
