Will and I played on Saturday Morning
Will played an Ogre Army,
while I used the Lizards
Will won first turn
The magic went well for him in turn 1, enhancing 2 units with regeneration, while gaining a wound back on 1 of the butchers. The Scrappalauncher was on target, but wounded only 1 skink. Will's turn ended.
I went to town in turn 1, moving terradons over a unit of Yhettes, causing 2 wounds with rocks from above. The Stegadon popped the Scrappy for 3 wounds, and 1 Regeneration spell was dispelled.
Turn 2
Will charged the Yhetees into the Saurus unit with the BSB. They passed their fear test, and stood their ground. Over on the flank the Leadbelchers shot at a unit of skinks trying to kill enough to cause a panic check but only killed one Skink while dealing a wound to themselves on a misfire. The Yhetees charged into the unit of Saurus warriors with the BSB and killed three Saurus warriors but took three wounds in return. They failed the break check and were overran. The unit of Saurus warriors then overran into the unit of Ironguts behind them.
My turn 2 we shot a unit of leadbelchers to Skinkies! The stegadon pummeled the Scrappy, while in the center of the battle, the Tyrant and the Oldblolod riding the Carnosaur were engaged in a duel to the death. The Carnosaur did 2 wounds to the Tyrant, and the Oldblood caused 1 more. The Tyrant could manage only 1 wound on the Carnosaur, and the unit of Maneaters held fast.
Turn Three
At the start of the Ogre turn the fleeing unit of Ironguts failed to rally on a nine and ran right up to the edge of the board. The leadbelchers managed to rally and reform. The lone Bull charged into a unit of Skinks but did not survive. The Stubborn Ironguts fought another round of combat against the Saurus Warriors loosing horribly but remaining stuck in combat due to their stubborn. In the middle of the board the Blade of Realities sliced the Tyrant into oblivion and then the Carnosaur gobbled his corpse for some massive overkill. The unit killed a few more temple guard and managed to stay in combat despite being beaten by eight due to the Maneater's stubbornness.
My turn saw the demise of the Ogres! The Oldblood butchered a butcher! The skinks charges the Gnobblar trappers and whupped them, and the Stegadon caused more carnage! In the end the Lizards marched forward, and the Ogres ran backward. Turn 3 was the end of the game.
AFTERTHOUGHT
Will played a bit linear. He lined up and moved forward, no combos, and no flanks. The early demis of the Yhetees showed him his folly, and after the game he said that he would not make that mistake again. We discussed the speed and strength of the Ogres, and the units of Bulls value. Will wound up walking out the door with a box of 14 more ogres that will probably become BULLS! The Blade of realities is not a friendly thing to a Butcher!
