I am a viking living historian with a viking longship named Yrsa. I attend Scandinavian festivals and Renaissance Fair's with my viking encampment. I do Norse storytelling, pewter coin and jewelry casting in soapstone molds, and can take you in the Yrsa out on the lake if you have one available!
The Yrsa is also available for parades and has appeared in parades at the Nordic Fest in Decorah, IA the Tivoli Festival in Elkhorn, IA the Scandinavian Days in Story City, IA and the Gimli, Manitoba Icelandic Festival.
Something for the kids!
My encampment comes complete with a viking A-frame tent, swords, axes, chain mail armor, helmets, shields and cooking gear of the period. Students love to see and hear about how people lived during the Dark Ages.
